Two Hour Early Release/No School- Parent-Teacher Conferences
On Wednesday, October 9th, students will be released two hours early. There will be no school on Thursday, October 10th, and Friday, October 11th. Parent-teacher conferences are scheduled for the evening of October 9th and 10th, as well as the afternoon on October 10th. We encourage everyone to schedule a conference to meet with your student's teachers. This is a great opportunity to discuss your child's progress and address any questions you may have.
National Principals Month
October is National Principals Month. As we enter the month of October, I would like to thank each of our principals for the work they do on a daily basis. Mr. Tandem Eischeid- GC Elementary, Mr. Brian Sauser- AC/GC High School, and Mr. Ed Den Beste- A-C Elementary and AC/GC Junior High. The hard work and leadership our principals provide for our staff and students is a vital component to staff and student success. Be sure to thank our principals for their dedication to our students and families of AC/GC!
Computer Sale
The Guthrie Center CSD has decommissioned computers for sale. (Adair-Casey CSD will have a similar sale later this fall) They will be sold as is for $130 a piece (limit 1 each), computer bags are available (limited quantity).

When: Wednesday, October 9th- 1:30 PM to 3:00 PM

Students and staff at the A-C campus participated in the 14-annual Healthiest State Walk this morning by walking for 15 minutes around the track.

Students and staff at the A-C campus participated in the 14th-annual Healthiest State Walk this morning.

It was an exciting day as a group of high schoolers in fall activities came to A-C Elementary to present the Charger of the Month!





Many classrooms are getting into coding!


Members of the high school football, volleyball, and cross country teams as well as the band, cheerleaders, and flags performed a pep rally at the AC campus this morning.

The A-C gym and weight room will be closed from August 12-16 for cleaning.

After 26 years, today was Dave Farley's last day as custodian at the JH campus. Thank you Dave for all the messes you have cleaned up, all the snow you have moved, and the help you have given everyone over the years. You will be missed.

The 2023-24 school year came to a close today and the bus drivers got in one last evacuation drill.





Preschool held a graduation ceremony Thursday afternoon.


4th grade worked hard on using their science, math, engineering, and art skills to make a cardboard arcade. Junior High students got to come down and test the new games out.




Last week 4th grade had a picnic at the Adair Park.




There will be a 2.5-hour early dismissal on Tuesday due to the weather forecast this afternoon. Please prepare and be safe as these storms pass through our area around our normal dismissal times. Thank you.

The 5th grade took a field trip to the Capitol Building, The Jordan House, and Bennet School in Des Moines.





The music department presented its 4th-6th grade Spring concert. The 5th and 6th grade bands performed a song together.

The votes have been counted and Adair-Casey Elementary has been named the Unruliest School by Unruly Splats and Elizabeth Moreland has been named the winner of the Unruliest Techie Award. Congratulations and keep up the great work.

The Guthrie Center School Board is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Brian Sauser as the new 9-12 Principal for AC/GC High School.


5th Grade raised money through their "trash for cash" campaign for Abram Rutt Park in Casey. They also helped pick up trash and loaded over 8 trailers full of limbs.
