Last Day of School- 2 Hour Early Release
This is a friendly reminder our last day of school will be tomorrow, Friday, May 24, with a 2 hour early release schedule. The last day of school is here and we are enjoying some outdoor activities for many of the celebrations at ACGC Schools! Our staff and students are excited for summer 2024!
Greenfield and Surrounding Areas
Our thoughts and prayers are with the Greenfield community and everyone affected by the spring tornadoes. We extend our gratitude to the many student activity and community groups who donated water and supplies to those in need this week. We will continue to seek ways to support our neighbors as they recover from this devastating storm. More information on how we can help will be released in the future. Thank you to everyone who donated and volunteered their time to assist with the support and recovery efforts.
School Board Appreciation
May is School Board Recognition Month in Iowa and a chance to thank our boards for the contributions they have made to our communities and education of our students of ACGC. Our School Boards put in countless hours attending meetings, reviewing policies, and making decisions that impact the entire school community, developing a solid foundation towards their goals of academic excellence, district operations, and creating a culture of learning.
To our School Boards, thank you for your invaluable contributions to our school community. Your vision, leadership, and commitment to education make a lasting difference in the lives of our students. We are truly fortunate to have such exceptional individuals serving our communities!

Beyond The Bell Grant
The Learning Beyond the Bell competitive grant opportunity funds are provided through the Iowa Department of Education's portion from the American Rescue Plan Elementary and Secondary School Emergency Relief (ARP ESSER) Fund to address state-level educational efforts. The purpose of this project is to build, evaluate, enrich and/or sustain evidence-based before-and after-school programming for schools with the most intense needs in Iowa. Anticipated results include increases in attendance rates, achievement in identified content area(s) of need (mathematics or literacy), and student engagement or connectedness. An additional outcome is to decrease identified achievement gaps.
Adair-Casey and Guthrie Center Elementary received the grant and will have approximately $18,000 to spend on summer school activities. These activities will allow students to work on skill work in the areas of reading and math. Hiring qualified teachers, transportation, and snacks are all included in the grant. Mr. Den Beste and Mrs. Flanery are working to get the information to parents about this educational opportunity for our elementary students.
Retirement Congratulations!
Congratulations to Cathy Lange, High School Family and Consumer Science Teacher, Diane Flanery, Guthrie Center Elementary Principal, and Dave Farley, Adair-Casey Custodian, as they wrap up their final weeks of school!
