Attendance Changes
Iowa Senate File 2435 introduced new attendance regulations for schools across the state. These updates, detailed in the attached document, were signed into law during the most recent legislative session. Our schools have incorporated these changes into their student handbooks. We are sharing this information to ensure that our school community is aware of the updated attendance laws that apply to all students.
Our district believes that traditional, in-person attendance provides students with the best learning opportunities. Being present and actively engaged in school helps students take greater ownership of their educational journey. As a result, our district prioritizes regular attendance and aims to remove any barriers that may prevent students from attending school regularly. Should you have any questions regarding attendance, please contact your building Principal.
Homecoming Early Dismissal - Friday, September 20
Please note that Friday, September 20, will be a two-hour early dismissal for homecoming celebrations. The High School Student Council has been hard at work planning an exciting week of activities for students, alumni, and the community. Additionally, the booster club is organizing tailgate events before the game on Friday, September 20th.
The High School Student Council and Booster Club Homecoming Committee have gone to great lengths to create opportunities for everyone to participate in and celebrate AC/GC Schools. We hope you'll join us for the parade after school, the pep rally, tailgate activities, halftime coronation, and to cheer on the Chargers as they take on the South Central Calhoun Titans!
