The following Internet resources are made available FREE to students and adults because these subscriptions have been purchased by the Heartland Area Education Agency. Follow these simple steps to access these resources

  1. Go to Launchpad

  2. Choose Sign in with Google using your school email and password

  • Students in grades 2-8 with a school email account may also sign in to use these tools in this manner

  • More info to com for students in grades PK-1. They may need to use apps on their iPads since they don't have school Google accounts.

School Library
This is our online catalog.  A simple search can be conducted using the search box.  You may search by keyword, title, author, subject, or series.  To conduct an advanced search, click on "Expert" or "Combo" near the search bar. You can also access the online catalog through the school website using the “A-C Online Library” link on the AC/GC Junior High page or the “Our Online Library” link on the A-C Elementary page.

AEA Digital Library
With over 400 titles, Iowa's Area Education Agencies are pleased to provide Iowa PreK-12 educators and students access to this growing collection of educational digital media resources. This collection includes streaming video, still images, and digital documents for PreK-3 children's literature, 4-8th grade science, 7-12th grade health and guidance, and the AIME copyright newsletter.

Encyclopedia Britannica 
This site contains materials for all ages of readers with specific sections for elementary, middle, and high school. Highlights include biography, atlas, dictionary, and timelines.

Mackin VIA ebooks
This is a link to online elementary, junior-high, and high school ebooks and audiobooks.  The titles are grouped into various fiction and non-fiction categories.  The ebooks and audiobooks are available 24/7. There is no checkout or wait list.  All students can read the same book at the same time. The ebooks and audiobooks work on any computer, laptop, or mobile device with Internet access.  There is also a Mackin VIA app.  Search the App store for Mackin VIA. 

Pebble Go
This site is for beginning researchers.  Databases include animals, earth and space science, biographies, and social studies.

Pebble Go Next
This site contains research information that is accessible for students in grades 3-8.  Categories include States, Science, Social Studies, and Biographies.

Image Quest (Britannica)

This site contains millions of copyright-free images suitable for classroom use.

This site is for children in grades Prek-3 to develop their reading skills.  It pairs classic video storybooks with related nonfiction eBooks and provides numerous activities.

SIRS Researcher

This site contains thousands of full-text magazine and newspaper articles.

Teen Health & Wellness 
Topics include bullying, suicide, alcohol, drugs, mental health, green living, nutrition, and financial literacy.

EBSCO
